Your journey organizer is Badra Djait. She is a Belgian of Algerian origin who lives in Ghent (Belgium). She has a master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and in Arabic Language and Islamic Culture. She worked three years in academic research and more than ten years in politics. She speaks fluently English, French, Dutch and Arabic.

She loves travelling all around the world (Peru, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Nepal, ...) and getting new inspirations. However, the mesmerising Algerian desert occupies a special place in her heart. After her first trip to the Algerian Sahara in 2010, she went back almost every year.

Now she wants you to discover this beautiful part of her country and their people, the noble Tuaregs. She fully organizes your trip and guides you safely all the way from Brussels or Algiers to "Le grand Sud". She is the perfect person who will make you feel comfortable and safe.

What really makes this trip so special are the Tuaregs who join us. The Tuaregs call themselves Imohag, meaning 'free men', and are referred to as the 'blue people of the Sahara' in reference to the indigo turbans worn by man. They are not only great companions but also respectful, discreet and have an excellent attitude.

Being with them around the campfire under a million stars, listening to their stories and jokes, and hearing them singing and making music, will give you a glimpse into a totally different world.

The Tuaregs we work with are seasoned and have more than 15 years of experience in the travel sector. They possess a thorough knowledge of the terrain and know the ins and outs of the Sahara. They will lead us safely all the way through the largest desert of the world.
